What is unique about your program?

Our program has a long standing commitment to developing excellent clinical surgeons, productive scientific investigators and effective teachers. By providing our residents with these skills, it is our hope that many of our graduates will eventually become the future leaders of academic surgery.
Our commitment to the universal development of the resident's skills is further reflected in our 2 years of research training. All residents participate in the research hiatus and this effort is funded through the Department of Surgery. Increasingly, our residents have participated not only in basic science research but also clinical outcomes research and the pursuit of other advanced degrees.
We continually strive to create an environment that enhances the education and training of our residents while maintaining quality of life during the training period.
