Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH)

Note 1: Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) is an enzyme that is released into the bloodstream when cells are damaged or destroyed. Cancer cells have a high rate of turnover, leading to an elevated LDH. An elevated LDH is a generic marker of injury to cells and not specific to cancer.
Note: Record the range of LDH value as documented in the patient record at the time of diagnosis.
