Note 1: For research purposes, investigators need to determine whether clinical staging into the T1c category is based on DRE only or on DRE plus TRUS. Record the procedure(s) used in clinical staging for all T categories regardless if positive or negative findings.
Note 2: Procedures used in clinical staging include digital rectal examination (DRE) or imaging techniques of the prostate including transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) or endorectal coil magnetic resonance imaging (erMRI). TRUS guided biopsy can be recorded as imaging.
Note 3: Clinical procedures performed after needle core biopsy or any surgical procedure of the prostate are not included in this field.
